You Don't Have a Lead Problem. You Have Four Ads.
Somebody asks me every week why the leads dried up. Usually the answer is boring. You are not spending enough and you are not making enough.
Then I show them the count.
830 against three
On 5 September 2026 I opened the Meta Ad Library and pulled up Alex Hormozi’s page. About 830 ads running.
Not 830 impressions. Not 830 versions of one video with the headline swapped. 830 live creatives, pointed at different offers, using different hooks and different formats.
I have worked on accounts putting more than a million dollars a month through these platforms. None of them had 830 ads live.
Two days before that we pulled 16 home services advertisers out of the same public tool: nine roofing, seven electrical, United States, active ads only.
The highest creative count on an actual contractor was three. A national remodeler running three variants of one concept. Most of the list was running exactly one.
The one advertiser in that pull with real volume, 21 variants, was a lead generation affiliate. Not a contractor. Somebody whose entire business is buying media.
The dates are worse than the counts
Four of those advertisers had been running the same static image for 910 days, 818 days, 437 days and 353 days.
Two and a half years on one picture.
So the bar in your category is one ad, forever. That is the thing you are trying to beat.
Ads are spaghetti at the wall
I will say that as the person you would pay to run them.
You are guessing which hook lands. Educated guessing, with a few hundred accounts of pattern recognition behind it, but guessing. Which means the question stops being “what is the best ad” and becomes “how many swings did I take this month.”
Hormozi is not smarter than your ad guy. He is taking a couple hundred times the swings, and a mediocre hit rate on 830 tries beats a great one on three.
Where the volume actually comes from
Not from your ads manager. Nobody writes 800 ads from a blank page.
It comes from you being on camera.
1.Make content. A lot of it, in your voice, about the thing you actually know.
2.Find the pieces that already worked organically. Those are pre-tested hooks. The audience has voted.
3.Cut them for paid with AI. Tighten the first three seconds, add the call to action, strip anything that only makes sense to somebody who already follows you.
4.Ship them and kill the losers fast.
The bottleneck for nearly every business I talk to is step one. They have four ads because they made four pieces of content.
The part that cuts against me
If you are paying an agency and you have four ads live, some of that is the agency’s fault.
Creative production is the lever with the most room left in it, and plenty of shops quietly define it as the client’s job so it never lands on anybody’s plate. If nobody has told you in writing how many new concepts go live this month, that is worth asking on your next call.
The spend side has a floor too, and it is a different number than most people guess. The math on that is here.
Do this on Monday
Open the Meta Ad Library. Search your own page and count what is live. Then search your three biggest competitors and count theirs.
If nobody on that list is above five, your category is wide open, and the only thing standing between you and it is a camera and an afternoon.
Want somebody to tell you what your account is actually running? I will read it and send back what I find in writing, with the dates and the numbers. Request an account read.
